Chantelle joined the GLM Team in 2021 and teaches Pre-Elementary and Senior Ballet. She has been dancing for as long as she can remember and at 16 years old began full-time ballet training at Tanya Pearson Classical Coaching Academy, whilst also attending various dance schools for extra training including McDonald College and Sydney Dance Company.
At 18 years old Chantelle was accepted into Joffrey Ballet School’s pre-professional training program in New York City where she lived and trained for over a year. Chantelle’s impressive ballet career has given her the opportunity to compete in eisteddfods such as the AICD International Ballet Awards, McDonald’s Sydney Eisteddfod, Ryde Eisteddfod and many more. She has also had exciting performance opportunities, such as the Glenn Street Theatre, Sydney Opera House, and Laguardia Performing Arts Centre in New York City. As well as ballet, Chantelle has trained in other styles of dance such as contemporary, modern, lyrical and jazz.
Chantelle loves teaching as it’s an opportunity to pass your passion onto others. She loves seeing improvement and eagerness to learn!
Outside of GLM, Chantelle works as a manager in fashion retail. She has a certificate in fashion and has previously worked in fashion as a visual merchandiser, creating displays and styling outfits. She spends her free time
nurturing her creative side by painting and journaling, as well as spending time with friends, going to the gym and doing yoga, and spends as much time as possible in nature.
When asked what she loves about dancing, Chantelle told us this, “I love that dancing is a way to express your creativity and emotions through movement and music! I especially love improvisation as it is a true way of expression with no rules or limitations. I love that each dancer has such a unique way of dancing, performing and creating. No two dancers are the same. Also, anyone can dance. How great is that?!”
