Hello!
Meet Miss Gemma
Miss Gemma has been part of the GLM Dance Studio story since she was just three years old, beginning her dance journey back when the studio was known as Eileen Phillips Dance Academy. Having grown up at GLM, dance has always been a big part of her life. Her main styles are ballet and jazz - two styles she loves for their variety, versatility, and opportunities for both technique and expression.

In 2023, Miss Gemma completed her Advanced Jazz exam on the BAL syllabus and began teaching at GLM, assisting with younger classes. She loves seeing students light up when they dance and watching their eagerness to learn, improve, and grow. Her goal in every class is to create a safe, happy space where students can leave the outside world behind, laugh, learn, and develop their confidence as dancers and performers.

GLM holds a very special place in Miss Gemma’s heart. It’s where she danced alongside her sister and cousin, formed lifelong friendships, and created countless memories both in and out of the studio. To her, GLM is not just a place to dance - it’s a community and a second home.
Outside the studio, Miss Gemma loves baking all things sweet, from cookies to muffins. She enjoys the entire process - from mixing and creating to the smell of freshly baked treats coming out of the oven.
Miss Gemma’s advice to her dancers is to never be afraid to step outside your comfort zone. Trying something new or performing in front of others might feel scary, but that’s where growth happens - and you might just discover something you love along the way.
