Hello!

Meet Georgia:

Georgia is a Co-Director and Principal Teacher at GLM, teaching jazz, tap, ballet, contemporary and hip hop styles to all ages and experience levels. She has always held a love of both dance and teaching and launching GLM Dance Studio in 2016 was a dream come true. Seeing dancers develop their skills, confidence and passion for dance through engaging classes at GLM over the years is an absolute highlight of her role.

Georgia holds a Bachelor of Arts (2015), majoring in Dance and Performance, Media, Culture & Communications, as well as a Certificate IV in Dance Teaching and Management. She is currently completing her Masters of Teaching (Primary), due to complete 2021. As well as 5+ years teaching at GLM Dance Studio, Georgia has experience teaching in primary schools across NSW for a number of years with another dance company. This wide and varied experience has provided Georgia with the capacity and creativity to teach techniques to students of widely varying needs and reinforces her approach of prioritising engagement and enjoyability in order to see dancers thrive.

A talented dancer herself, Georgia started dancing at Eileen Phillips Dance Academy at just 5 years old (with fellow Co-Director, Louisa!). Continuing with Eileen into adulthood she progressively picked up Tap and Jazz, joined the first Eisteddfod Troupe at the Academy and was selected to choreograph her own classes’ dances from just 12 years old! Her experience and love also expanded into the dance group at her school, participating each year in the NSW Schools Spectacular and even performing in the opening ceremony of the Youth Olympics.

Throughout High School, Georgia’s passion for dance continued and she went on to complete a Bachelor of Arts with one of my majors in Dance and Performance. Working with friends and colleagues in the dance industry, Georgia has had the opportunity to dance and choreographed in music video productions and charity dance projects. Georgia regularly attends classes at Sydney Dance Company to support her ongoing learning, breadth of experience and the enhancement of her teaching and learning styles.

Outside of GLM, dancing and study, Georgia loves painting, plants and her puppy! Georgia loves the way the GLM Family has grown and come together throughout the years, and feels it’s a wonderfully supportive community to be a part of.
