Meet Miss Georgia
Co-Director & Dance Teacher
Miss Georgia has been dancing from a very young age, beginning with jazz and ballet before expanding her training across a wide range of styles. Inspired by the wonderful teachers who nurtured her love of dance, she quickly discovered a passion not only for performing, but also for choreography and teaching. Those early opportunities to create routines as a student sparked a lifelong love of helping others discover the magic of dance.
After completing a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Dance & Performance and Media, Culture & Communications, a Certificate IV in Dance Teaching & Management, and later a Master of Teaching (Primary), Miss Georgia was excited to help launch GLM Dance Studio. While she has experience teaching all styles of dance, tap remains her favourite, and she especially loves any opportunity to bring choreography and creativity to life in the classroom.
For Miss Georgia, dance is about so much more than learning steps. She believes everyone can dance and strives to create an environment where students feel confident to challenge themselves, express their individuality, and enjoy every moment of the learning process. Few things are more rewarding than watching a student persevere through a challenge before finally achieving something they once thought they couldn't do.
The value of inclusivity in our dance classes means anyone can dance. In such a restrictive industry it is so rewarding to turn those “I can’t do that” moments into yes I actually can!
Outside the studio, Miss Georgia is a primary school teacher and a proud mum to two beautiful girls. She also enjoys reading, walking her dog Lenny, and enjoying time with her family.
As one of GLM's founders, Miss Georgia feels incredibly grateful to have watched the studio community grow over the past decade. She treasures the welcoming, family atmosphere that has made GLM a safe and encouraging place for dancers of all ages to build confidence, express themselves, and form lifelong friendships. One of her proudest memories is teaching the same tap class for nine years, watching those students grow from beginner dancers into confident, advanced performers.
I myself have made lifelong friendships through dance and the ability to provide a space for others to do the same is so special.
Her advice to dancers? Give every class, rehearsal and performance your very best. Trust yourself, embrace every opportunity, and let your passion shine through in every movement.
