Miss Sophie is the newest addition to the GLM Dance Studio teaching team, and she couldn’t be more excited to share her love of dance with her students! Having grown up dancing at GLM, she knows firsthand what makes the studio such a special place and is thrilled to step into her new role as a teacher.

 

Her dance journey began at the age of four, taking ballet lessons with her cousins before discovering her passion for hip hop and contemporary. Miss Sophie’s passion for choreography  and movement grew while studying HSC Dance, choosing Composition as her Major Study. She instructed and composed for three dancers, guiding them through a solo and duet performance. She has also gained experience running dance electives for children’s holiday programs, fostering creativity and confidence in young dancers.

 

Miss Sophie is dedicated to creating a supportive and encouraging environment where students can develop their skills, build confidence, and express themselves through dance. She believes that strong foundational technique, combined with creativity and self-expression, helps dancers grow not only in ability but also in passion and enjoyment.

 

Outside of the studio, Miss Sophie loves camping and travelling, always looking for new places to explore and new experiences to enjoy. 

 

Miss Sophie’s advice to her students? Keep going! Mastering a new skill takes time, but with practice and determination, progress is always within reach. She is so excited to support her students on their dance journey and watch them grow throughout the year.
