5-9 Year Olds
Classes for children in lower primary school
Young dancers will grow in confidence as they are supported to develop skills, technique, strength, flexibility and coordination in fun and supportive dance classes at our Hornsby Studio.
We offer classes in Ballet, Jazz, Tap and Hip Hop for this age group, providing a solid foundation for future dance progression and skills transferrable beyond the Studio.

Ballet

Kindy Ballet (5-6 years): Saturday 10:15am - 11:00am

Beginners Ballet (7-8 years): Saturday 12:15pm - 1:00pm

Grade 2 Ballet (9-10 years*): Wednesday 3:45pm - 4:45pm
Classical Ballet is a celebration of form and technique, combining graceful, fluid movements and story telling. GLM proudly teaches the Ballet Australasia Ltd (BAL) syllabus, introducing young dancers to the recognised technique of Classical ballet in carefully graded and interesting exercises. Jazz

A lively and popular style, Jazz is rooted in classical technique and blended with today’s more modern styles. Recognised by bold and dramatic movements including kicks, turns and leaps, Jazz classes support the development of well-rounded skills in young dancers. More about Jazz classes at GLM here.

Part dance, part music, tap dancers create their own sound with simple and complex rhythms, working with what is effectively a percussive instrument strapped to their feet! GLM proudly teach the Ballet Australasia Limited (BAL) Tap syllabi, providing up to date trends with sound tap technique in carefully graded classes. More about Tap classes at GLM here.

Hip Hop

Beginners Hip Hop (6-8 years): Friday 3:45pm - 4:30pm
Rather pop than plié? Hip Hop is a street style of dance that incorporates strong and distinctive movements, often performed to the epic beats of hip hop, urban or RnB music. More about Hip Hop classes at GLM here.

Location: Our studio is on Jersey Street, less than 5 minutes from Westfield. Get directions here.
Trials: We offer a complimentary trial in any class at GLM.

Showcase: The high point of the dance year for many, GLM presents a Showcase each December - two fabulous evenings in which our entire student body gets to show their progression and perform the dances they have been learning in their classes for their family, friends and loved ones.
