Older children will love the challenge of learning new skills, improving their dance technique in super-fun and supportive environment. Grow in confidence and ignite passion with a great range of styles: Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Lyrical and Musical Theatre.

2024 Classes

Note: Ages listed are based on the age a student is turning in 2024. 



  • Grade 2 Ballet (9-10 years*): Wednesday 3:45pm - 4:45pm

  • Grade 3 Ballet (10-11 years*): Wednesday 4:45pm - 5:45pm

Classical Ballet is a celebration of form and technique, combining graceful, fluid movements and story telling. GLM proudly teaches the Ballet Australasia Ltd (BAL) syllabus, allowing dancers to progress through the recognised technique of Classical ballet in carefully graded and interesting exercises.   • Junior Jazz (9-12 years): Friday 5:30pm - 6:30pm

A lively and popular style, Jazz is rooted in classical technique and blended with today’s more modern styles. Recognised by bold and dramatic movements including kicks, turns and leaps, Jazz classes support the development of well-rounded skills in dancers of all ages. More about Jazz classes at GLM here



  • Grade 2 Tap (8-9 years*): Friday 4:30pm - 5:30pm

  • Grade 5 Tap (11-12 years*): Tuesday 5:45pm - 6:45pm

Part dance, part music, tap dancers create their own sound with simple and complex rhythms, working with what is effectively a percussive instrument strapped to their feet! GLM proudly teach the Ballet Australasia Limited (BAL) Tap syllabi, providing up to date trends with sound tap technique in carefully graded classes. More about Tap classes at GLM here


Hip Hop

  • Junior Hip Hop (9-12 years): Thursday 5:00pm - 6:00pm

Rather pop than plié? Hip Hop is a street style of dance that incorporates strong and distinctive movements, often performed to the epic beats of hip hop, urban or RnB music. More about Hip Hop classes at GLM here



  • Junior Contemporary (9-12 years): Thursday 4:00pm - 5:00pm

Ready to get creative with your movements? Contemporary is an innovative and expressive style of dance that combines elements of many dance genres including jazz, ballet and modern, exploring the boundaries, versatility and improvisation in movement. More about Contemporary classes at GLM here



  • Junior Lyrical (9-15 years): Monday 3:45pm - 4:45pm

Lyrical is a style not dissimilar to Contemporary, also utilising techniques from ballet and jazz. Lyrical places a strong focus on storytelling, connecting music and song lyrics to a dancer’s movements and expression. More about Lyrical classes at GLM here


Performance Troupe

  • Performance Troupe (10-15 years, by invitation only): Monday 4:45pm - 5:45pm

Our Performance Troupe is a selective class, in which students must receive an invitation to enrol. Our Troupe focuses on developing advanced dance skills and creating routines to be performed competitively throughout the year.

Trials: We offer a complimentary trial in any class at GLM.

Enrolments: We love welcoming new students to the GLM family! New enrolments are welcome throughout the year (tuition will be pro rata). Please note classes break for school holidays. Click here to learn more about enrolling at GLM.

Showcase: The high point of the dance year for many, GLM presents a Showcase each December - two fabulous evenings in which our entire student body gets to show their progression and perform the dances they have been learning in their classes for their family, friends and loved ones.
